Parts for the F30 3 Series
The F30 is the sixth-generation 3 Series sedan, built from October 2011 to October 2018, and the last 3 Series made in South Africa. BMW's Rosslyn plant built it from 2012 until 3 Series production ended there in 2018, when the plant switched to the X3. By then Rosslyn had built 382,658 sixth-generation cars, and BMW says one in every four sixth-generation 3 Series sedans sold worldwide came from the plant. BMW also notes it was the first car in its segment to offer an eight-speed Steptronic automatic.
Which F30 do you have?
The SA range was wide. BMW South Africa added a 1.6-litre 316i as the entry model in May 2013, with the 335i as the flagship, and its 2014 M Performance Edition was built at Rosslyn in 320i, 320d, 328i, 330d and 335i form. There was also a 318i, which IOL notes used a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol, a very different engine from the four-cylinder in the 2020 G20 318i.
Badges do not reliably tell you the engine on this generation, as the three-cylinder 318i shows. When you ask for an engine, turbo, gearbox or cooling part, the badge plus the year and the VIN lets us match the exact unit.
Body styles
Besides the F30 sedan there was the F31 Touring and the F34 Gran Turismo, which has its own body. Make sure you tell us which body you have before ordering panels, doors or lights.
