How we source Toyota parts
Stripped from accident-damaged Toyota cars, then tested
- Over 15 years stripping accident-damaged vehicles for used parts.
- Removed carefully and tested before a part is sold, so you're not paying for something that doesn't work.
- Matched to your car — send the year, engine and VIN if you have it, and we'll check it's the right part.
What Toyota owners ask us for
Toyota tops our request list: 122 part requests in the 12 months to October 2026, more than any other make. Engines come up most (12 requests), then gearboxes and doors (7 each), bumpers (6) and wheels and rims (5). That mix suggests owners keep their Toyotas going with a replacement engine or gearbox rather than replacing the car, and fix body panels after a knock.
The age range is wide. Among the latest requests on this site in October 2026 were a 1996 and a 1999 Toyota alongside a 2025 model, so we get asked for parts for cars that left the showroom decades ago as well as current ones.
Toyotas built and sold in South Africa
The Hilux, South Africa's most popular vehicle, is built here: Toyota South Africa Motors makes the Hilux and Fortuner at Prospecton near Durban, and it made its one millionth South African Corolla in 2013. The Tazz, sold from 1996 to 2006, was the market leader in its class for most of that run, which is why Tazz parts are still asked for. More recent changes matter too: the Corolla Quest was dropped in 2025 and the Avanza in 2022.
How to ask for a Toyota part
Tell us the model, the year and the engine size, and the exact part you need. A photo of the old part or the VIN from your licence disc helps us match it first time. Not sure of the engine size? It is usually in the service book, or send the VIN and we'll look it up. We strip accident-damaged vehicles for used parts and test them before they are sold, and have done for over 15 years. Tell us your car and the part, and we'll come back with a price.
If the car is past repairing, our guide on scrapping a car in South Africa covers the paperwork, and the Pretoria scrap yards by area list helps if you want to look around locally.
