The ML's new name
The GLE is the M-Class renamed. When the W166 ML was facelifted, Mercedes changed the badge to GLE and added the GLE Coupé, code C292. The all-new W167 followed from October 2018, with its own coupé, the C167, and facelifts in 2023 and 2026. All of them are built at Tuscaloosa in Alabama.
Which GLE do you have?
- W166 GLE: the facelifted ML, so tell us the year and badge.
- C292 GLE Coupé: sloping roof, its own doors, rear glass and tailgate.
- W167 and C167 (from 2018): the current generation.

What we need to quote
The year, the derivative (GLE 250d, GLE 350d, GLE 400 and so on), SUV or Coupé, and the VIN. The VIN is the reliable way to match electronic parts and lights. For panels, send the colour and mention parking sensors.
Not sure which generation you have? Production of the W167 began in October 2018, so a GLE built after that is almost certainly the new car. Anything earlier with a GLE badge is a facelifted W166. If you have the VIN, we can confirm it in a minute.
