How we source ML parts
Stripped from accident-damaged Mercedes-Benz cars, then tested
- Over 15 years stripping accident-damaged vehicles for used parts.
- Removed carefully and tested before a part is sold, so you're not paying for something that doesn't work.
- Matched to your car — send the year, engine and VIN if you have it, and we'll check it's the right part.
The ML, generation by generation
The M-Class, badged ML on the boot, was built at Tuscaloosa, Alabama. There were three generations before the name changed:
- W163 (1997–2004): the original body-on-frame ML.
- W164 (2005–2011): a unibody SUV that shared its platform with the GL-Class X164 and the R-Class W251.
- W166 (2011–2019): sold as the ML until its facelift, when it was renamed the GLE. The SUV itself carried on.
If your car says GLE on the back and was built from 2015, it is still a W166 underneath, and you will find it on our GLE parts page.
Parts that cross over
The W164 ML, GL and R-Class shared a platform, so some mechanical parts are common to all three. Body panels, lights and interior parts are not. We check by part number before we quote, so tell us which model the part came off if you have the old one in hand.
What to send
The year is a reliable guide on the ML: up to the end of 2004 is the body-on-frame W163, from January 2005 to 2011 is the unibody W164, and from July 2011 it is the W166. The W163 and the W164 are built very differently, so we never assume parts cross between them.
Send us the year, the derivative (ML 320 CDI, ML 350, ML 500 and so on), petrol or diesel, and the VIN. For headlights or anything electronic, the VIN is essential, because specifications varied. Our parts are stripped from accident-damaged SUVs and tested before they leave, and we have been stripping and selling used parts for over 15 years. See also the GL-Class, or sell an old ML to us.
