Parts for the G30 5 Series
The G30 is the seventh-generation 5 Series saloon, built from November 2016 to 2023, with the G31 as the Touring. BMW South Africa launched it here in March 2017 with two diesel and two petrol engines, all with rear-wheel drive at launch.
The SA launch engines
BMW South Africa's launch press kit lists them:
- 520d: four-cylinder diesel, 140 kW and 400 Nm.
- 530d: six-cylinder in-line diesel.
- 530i: a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol, 185 kW and 350 Nm.
- 540i: a 3.0-litre straight-six petrol, 250 kW and 450 Nm, the flagship at launch.
The G30 replaced the F10, whose SA range used six-cylinder engines in the 523i and 528i at launch, so the newer car's four-cylinder 530i is a real change. The badge is not a guide to cylinder count on this car: a 530i is a four-cylinder and a 540i a six. For engine, turbo, cooling or exhaust parts, give us the badge and the year, and ideally the VIN, so we look for the right unit.
Newer car, accident parts
Typical accident-repair parts on a G30 are headlights, bumpers with parking sensors, bonnets, grilles, fenders and radiators. Tell us which sensors and assistance features are fitted and send photos of the damage. If yours is an M Sport car, say so.
