Parts for the first 1 Series
The first BMW 1 Series was built from 2004 to 2013 and replaced the 3 Series Compact. "E87" is the five-door hatch, but the family also includes the E81 three-door, the E82 Coupé and the E88 Convertible. Doors and rear body parts differ between them, so tell us which one you drive.
The South African line-up
CAR magazine's report on the facelift lists what BMW South Africa offered: the five-door with a 1.6-litre 116i, 1.8-litre 118i, 2.0-litre 120i, 2.0-litre 120d diesel and the 3.0-litre straight-six 130i, and a new three-door in 118i, 120i and 130i form only. Every model came with a six-speed manual or a six-speed Steptronic automatic. CAR also notes that only the 116i did without BMW's Valvetronic system, which matters if you need engine or intake parts: a 116i is not simply a smaller 118i.
By 2011, cars.co.za listed them in South Africa as the 120d Coupé, 120i Convertible and 125i and 135i in both bodies, the 135i with 225 kW.
