How we source Ponton parts

Stripped from accident-damaged Mercedes-Benz cars, then tested

  • Over 15 years stripping accident-damaged vehicles for used parts.
  • Removed carefully and tested before a part is sold, so you're not paying for something that doesn't work.
  • Matched to your car — send the year, engine and VIN if you have it, and we'll check it's the right part.

The Ponton Mercedes

"Ponton" is the name given to the Mercedes-Benz range that started with the 1953 W120 180 and ran until 1963. The family included four- and six-cylinder cars, as sedans, coupés and convertibles, under the codes W120, W121, W105, W180 and W128. The W110 and W111 "Fintail" cars replaced them.

An honest word about classic parts

We strip accident-damaged vehicles, and very few of those are 60-year-old classics. So we cannot promise Ponton parts, and we would rather say so here than waste your time. What we can do is check whether a part you need is available from a stripped vehicle, and give you a straight yes or no.

We will not suggest a part from a later car fits a Ponton unless the part number says so.

If you want us to look

  • Tell us the model badge (180, 190, 219, 220 S and so on), the model code if you know it, and the year.
  • Describe the part, with a photo of the old one and any numbers stamped on it.
  • Say whether originality matters to you, or whether a working part is what you need.

If your Mercedes is a later model, the generation pages will be more useful. Start with the E-Class, which is the modern descendant of the mid-size Mercedes line, or browse every Mercedes-Benz model we cover. We have been stripping and selling used parts for over 15 years, and everything we sell is checked before it goes out.
