How we source CL-Class parts

Stripped from accident-damaged Mercedes-Benz cars, then tested

  • Over 15 years stripping accident-damaged vehicles for used parts.
  • Removed carefully and tested before a part is sold, so you're not paying for something that doesn't work.
  • Matched to your car — send the year, engine and VIN if you have it, and we'll check it's the right part.

The S-Class coupé

The CL-Class was the two-door coupé derivative of the S-Class, sharing its platform. It began life as the SEC and later the S-Coupé before becoming a model line of its own. There were three generations under the CL name:

  • C140 (1992–1998): the coupé of the W140 S-Class era.
  • C215 (1998–2006): based on the W220 S-Class, on a shorter wheelbase.
  • C216 (2006–2014): based on the W221 S-Class chassis and sharing its powertrains, up to the V12 CL 65 AMG.

What crosses over from the S-Class

Because the CL shares its platform with the S-Class of its day, a number of mechanical parts are common to both. The bodywork is a different story: doors, glass, bumpers, lights and most interior trim are CL-specific. We check each part by number against your VIN before we quote, rather than guess.

Getting the right part

Send the year, the model (CL 500, CL 600, CL 63 AMG and so on), the colour and the VIN. These are complex cars, so for anything electrical or suspension-related the VIN is essential. For an engine or gearbox part, the engine number helps.

Production of each CL overlapped the next by a few months, so if your car was built in 1998 or 2006 the VIN is the only way to be sure which generation it is. A photo of the old part and its label also helps us match it.

Every part we sell is stripped from an accident-damaged car and checked before it goes out, with over 15 years of stripping and selling used parts behind us. For the sedan these coupés are built on, see S-Class parts. For the open-top grand tourer, try the SL-Class. Or sell us a damaged CL.
