How we source EcoSport parts
Stripped from accident-damaged Ford cars, then tested
- Over 15 years stripping accident-damaged vehicles for used parts.
- Removed carefully and tested before a part is sold, so you're not paying for something that doesn't work.
- Matched to your car — send the year, engine and VIN if you have it, and we'll check it's the right part.
Which EcoSport do you have?
The EcoSport arrived in South Africa in August 2013 and became one of Ford's most popular passenger cars here. Knowing which version you drive saves time, because the engines and gearboxes changed at the June 2018 facelift.
- 2013–2018: a 1.5 four-cylinder petrol, the 1.0 EcoBoost turbo and the 1.5 TDCi diesel, with a 5-speed manual or, on the 1.5 Titanium, a 6-speed PowerShift dual-clutch auto. These cars came from Chennai in India.
- From June 2018: new styling and cabin, the four-cylinder petrol dropped, and a torque-converter automatic replaced the PowerShift. The 1.0 EcoBoost models came from Craiova in Romania; the diesel, and from late 2018 a new three-cylinder 1.5 petrol, still came from India.
Known trouble spots
South African buyer's guides record a few recurring problems. The PowerShift gearbox on the pre-facelift 1.5 Titanium could leak oil onto its dry clutch, causing judder. Early 1.0 EcoBoost engines (before 2014) were known for coolant leaks that could lead to overheating and blown head gaskets, and Ford recalled some 2018–2020 1.0 models for a low-speed pre-ignition fault. Ford also acknowledged lock-barrel and alarm complaints on some older EcoSports. Each of those can end with a gearbox, an engine, a lock set or a door handle that needs replacing.
Parts that fit
The styling changed at the 2018 facelift, so tell us the year before we quote on a bumper, grille or headlight. The side-hinged tailgate carries the spare wheel, which matters if you are replacing the rear door. Send the year, the engine, manual or auto, the trim (Ambiente, Trend, Titanium) and the VIN, and we'll confirm the match before quoting.
Our parts are stripped from accident-damaged vehicles and checked before they go out, backed by over 15 years of stripping and selling used parts. See all our Ford parts, or the Ranger bakkie page if you run one of those too. If the EcoSport is not worth fixing, we can make you an offer for it.

FAQ
Ford EcoSport parts questions
Can you still get parts for a Ford EcoSport?
Yes. Production in India and Romania had ended by 2023, but used parts are still available from EcoSports that have been stripped. We strip accident-damaged EcoSports and test parts before they go out. Send us the year, engine and VIN for a price.
