How we source Datsun parts
Stripped from accident-damaged Datsun cars, then tested
- Over 15 years stripping accident-damaged vehicles for used parts.
- Removed carefully and tested before a part is sold, so you're not paying for something that doesn't work.
- Matched to your car — send the year, engine and VIN if you have it, and we'll check it's the right part.
Datsun parts after the brand ended
Datsun returned to South Africa in 2014 as Nissan's low-cost brand, starting with the Go hatchback and adding the Go+. Nissan ended the brand again in 2022, so there are no new Datsuns and no Datsun dealers — but plenty of Gos still on the road.
An old Pretoria name
The Datsun name goes back a long way here. The first Datsuns were imported in the 1960s, and the Rosslyn plant outside Pretoria built the Datsun 1200 bakkie from 1971, which became the Nissan 1400 and stayed in production until 2008. If you are keeping an old 1400 going, ask us too.
What to tell us
For a Go or Go+, the year and whether it is the five-seat Go or the larger Go+. For a 1400, the year and engine.
Getting a price for Datsun parts
Use the form at the top of this page: your Datsun model, its year, and the part. The engine size and the VIN from your licence disc are a bonus, and if you are replacing a damaged panel or light, say which side of the car it is on. Parts come from accident-damaged vehicles we strip, and each one is tested before it goes out — something we've been doing for over 15 years. We'll come back to you with a price.
Our Nissan spares page covers the parent brand. If your Go has reached the end of the road, read how to scrap a car in SA.
FAQ
Datsun parts questions
Why did Nissan stop using Datsun?
It was part of a wider transformation strategy Nissan announced in 2020, which withdrew Datsun from Russia and Indonesia first, with South Africa and India next. TopAuto reported in May 2022 that the last Datsun plant in India, where South Africa's Datsuns came from, shut in April 2022. Datsun had come back here in 2014 with the Go hatchback.
Is Datsun Go parts available?
When the brand ended in 2022, Nissan South Africa said it would keep providing aftersales service and parts availability through its national dealer network, as reported by TopAuto. For a used part, ask us: we strip accident-damaged vehicles and test parts before they go out. Tell us whether yours is the five-seat Go or the larger Go+, and the year.
