Chevrolet parts after the brand left
General Motors pulled Chevrolet out of South Africa at the end of 2017. That ended local production of the Spark hatchback and the Utility bakkie, and imports of the Cruze, Captiva and Trailblazer. The cars did not disappear, though: we had 46 Chevrolet part requests in the 12 months to October 2026.
What Chevrolet owners ask us for
Engines lead (6), then headlights and bumpers (4 each), bonnets and wheels (3 each). With no new Chevrolets on sale, used parts stripped from other cars are often the only practical source for lights and body panels.
The latest requests here were for two 2012 cars and a 2016 one, so most of what we are asked about is 10 to 15 years old.
Utility and Trailblazer owners
GM handed its bakkie plant in Gqeberha to Isuzu as part of the exit, and the Trailblazer was based on the Isuzu KB. Tell us the year and engine so we can check what fits.

The quickest requests give us four things: model, year, engine size and the part. Add a photo or your VIN if you have one. Is Chevrolet parts still available in South Africa?
Not from new Chevrolets. General Motors phased Chevrolet out of South Africa at the end of 2017, and said at the time it would keep providing service and parts support, without saying for how long. Used parts are the other route: we had 46 Chevrolet part requests in the 12 months to October 2026, led by engines (6), then headlights and bumpers (4 each).
Where can I buy Chevrolet spare parts?

Where can I find GM spare parts?
When General Motors left South Africa in 2017, its local operations were handed to Isuzu. Isuzu bought GM's light commercial plant in Port Elizabeth (now Gqeberha) and planned to take over GM SA's Parts Distribution Centre, according to CAR magazine.
